Course Description
Forensic Detectives Summer Camp
Cost is $425
Campers will learn to become Crime Scene Investigators during actual crime scene setups! They'll use the tools used in the field to collect and examine evidence. They'll conduct fingerprint, fiber, simulated blood and DNA analysis. As the investigator, campers must bear in mind that there is a two-fold responsibility: to clear the innocent as well as to expose the guilty.
During each activity the scientific concepts used are taught through "The Science Involved." Each camper is given a binder at the first lesson which will be used at each following lesson.
During the week a detailed case will be solved as the campers learn the skills to solve it. The Case of the Garden Skeleton will be presented along with the scientific principles involved. Small cases will be presented to emphasize the importance of detailed analyses. As part of the camp we work hard to have a real crime scene investigator come for a visit along with a local K-9 professional.
Campers will learn how a crime is actually solved and learn how Biology, Chemistry and Physics play a major role in the investigation!
